I was just thinking about the source of knowledge. Where did what we know come from? Whether one believes in Him or not. Whether they believe Yahweh is the one and true God or not. He is the source, He is the creator. He sustains them still but within the limits of their understanding. I was meditating on this verse. NLT translated it so well…
“In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use.”
2 Timothy 2:20
This verse extracted from this letter from Paul a prisoner, to Timothy as inspired by the Holy Spirit way before all the ancestors from Timbuktu to Wuhan, from Kirinyaga to Johannesburg ever knew to have special utensils for the visitors and teach their daughters and sons in household matters… Paul was telling Timothy of the use of utensils. But He was not only speaking of kitchen utensils but also a spiritual concept &/ principle.
A Holy Spirit-inspired word needs a Holy Spirit-inspired understanding. At the end of the day, it’s still God’s wisdom. He created it (like it or not, accept it or not). Utensils can be all they want to be. But the “knowing” of what they do or what they are & for what purpose, must have come from a source & it’s not our grandmothers. For those in spirit, they gain all benefits of the gem. For those out of spirit, they only use it on those special days to entertain their visitors. And that’s it.
Another example that comes to mind is the vast knowledge of the atmosphere and developing discoveries about black holes for instance. Recently they’ve figured out a way to record sound from a black hole and the scientists replayed. While we acknowledge their achievements, we ask ourselves where this knowledge would come from. Since with intangible nature, it couldn’t just have banged out of space according to the theories they bring about as the beginning of all existence. God who is the author and the finisher of all must be the single source of all knowledge. It is just so exciting to think about it honestly.
It all belongs to Him. 💡
