Mary Magdalene really had the toughest PR assignment in history. Imagine someone known for having “7 demons” & a funny reputation to boot, running into town screaming:
“Guys… I have seen Jesus alive & the tomb is empty. Jesus is alive.”
And people are there like:
“Weee kwenda.”
“Uongo.” “Tunakujua wewe!!!”
“You’re lying Mary…”

But honestly, at least for her there was evidence. They had put Him in the tomb. Now He was gone. But she had seen Him – Live Live. Imagine the confidence within her… Fast forward thousands of years later and we are still preaching the same message. Into make it palatable. We are still telling you about the same thing…

That Jesus died.
Was buried.
And rose again.

And strangely enough, people still focus more on the messenger’s past than the message itself. To probably convince themselves. (This is not in the text fellow theologians – but we know how humans can get. 😔)
“Yes, Mary had a past.”… “Yes, some of us did too.”
But that’s not the point. This very belief scratches that.

The point is: JESUS IS ALIVE.

And according to Romans 10:9-10, that belief changes everything. “That if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

The Gospel really is that simple.
Salvation is that simple.
Believe.
